Tomo & The Mighty Bellyslide
Just in case you've not come across this elsewhere, here's Mark Thomson in high speed action. 11 minutes long, but worth the time- kick back with the morning coffee and get stoked. Please don't bother with Krypt surfmats.Overpriced,badly mass produced in Taiwan,and only work at full inflation like a blow-up bodyboard.Too small for most riders too.Better off with a Fourth Gear Flyer from Paul Gross.MUSA,quality,great service and a proper magic towel...
I'd have to agree.Mine was badly welded,not aligned properly,and valve was a joke.Split within a month.Very disappointing and considering the showmanship and posturing of its maker,quite embarrassing.The original design was by Dale Solomonson,by the way;and Mark still couldn't get them right.Oh dear.

I had a knee injury in 2010 that had my surfing limited to a mat for 6 months. I rode a Krypt nearly everyday of those 6 months and in my experience never had a problem with quality or ability to go beyond all expectations of high speeds while riding properly under-inflated... a great ride and quality still strong to date. I also spent a fair share of time on a 4th Gear Flyer "Fatty"... a great ride too. Subtle differences that can be appreciated from ride/feel of each mat.
Wow, who knew there was such mat hostility? It reads a bit like spam sorry, and of the dozen or so people I know with Mark's mats (RT among 'em) I've never heard a word of complaint but plenty of praise. Same came be said for the people I know with PG's mats too, and many of them overlap.
By the way, when the showmanship and posturing is footage of speed runs like those, I'm OK with it.
