South Bay/P.O.P.

Spent the last few days rejiggering the Foam & Function site and surfing wind thrashed closeouts as a change from the regular closeouts. It does sometimes get good here but not as good as this fine archival shot. Bet that guy would have made it if he'd been riding a flextail like mine though.

It used to get good at the spot about six or seven years ago. I do remember decent waves. I wasn't hallucinating! But over the last five years or so, the spot has not delivered. Oh well. The crew is still cool.

...hello man,
I just watched the Nike clip,
the thing with those corporated evils is that they know (or have the money)to what person give the job
or what s the last trend...
-I wonder about the length of the clip; for what is intended? is too long for a TV ad...

Reverb,
I wonder about the clip length too- maybe that's it? It is a great thing that they got the funding for that, and very clever on Nike's part, instead of a cheesy corpo knock-off version of something cool, they actually went to the source. That's why they're so successful I guess!

One day this el nino winter it got very good in the same spot the POP pier existed, some of the best pitching racing overhead waves I've ever had at what "we" call OP now. I surfed it that january sunday with one of the original locals "apes" who seemed like they had seen a ghost from the 70's. Magical moment.
