From Andrew Kidman's 'Lost In The Ether' book and film:
"I was trying to make a board to ride the one-foot peelers that reeled off the point at Greenmount. I didn't want to ride a longboard. I again used the same outline as the 5' 10" Skip Frye fish. I left the tail square. In the bottom I put two panel fees running from the nose into the tail, then cut eight channels into the tail of the board for control. I used a modern box rail. I made the fin from the fin template I'd taken from the 7'10" Simmons board. I called Larry Gephart and Richard Kenvin about fin placement- they both said "put the fins on the tail" The Dreamboard was born."
After much cajoling and an alignment of positive factors, Andrew has agreed to shape a few boards for the US, and the first completed is a Dreamboard. 5'10" x 21" 2 1/2", Geppy fins, glass and colour to be done by Surfer's Country and possibly complete with Andrew's artistic touch to the finished look of it all. The board will be up here by summer, and it'll be for sale.....
