Featuring The Dirty Three, Pond, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Xavier Rudd, Atoms For Peace, Tom Curren, Bonnie Prince Billie and the Windy Hills amongst others, it's an acclaimed double record set of wonderfully evocative music from the film Available as very nice double vinyl LP at $35, a regular double CD at $15 or the well cool 'deluxe' version pictured above with 2 CDs and a great little book for $25. 6'2" Parmenter Channeled MPegg For Sale

Mad awesome! 6'2"x20.75"x2.5", MPegg outline with 6 channels and a widow maker fin setup! What's not visible in a simple photo, especially my chimp-with-an-instamatic style photos, are how good Dave Parmenter is at the whole surfboard shaping business. The foil is amazing, the wide point is forward and just standing there it looks fast, there seems to be a bit more rocker than the standard MPegg and there's a bit of a beak nose rather than the more rounded old school MP style. Epic board, beautiful Waterman's Guild tint work and i's here and available for a very reasonable $800 because it was a custom, but the customer decided that it's not sky blue, or at least not the sky blue he envisioned. (Important custom board note- either give your glasser a colour chip if you want something specific, or go with what their fume addled colour mind comes up with. I'm spoiled with Waterman's Guild as they do insanely high quality work which counts more than colour for me- I usually just say 'red' or 'yellow' or whatever and let it happen)

Apologies for the lag in posts of late, but travel and sketchy wi-fi connections will do that. It's on a gain, and there's some great stuff here- new Mackies, new Parmenter fins, new Parmenter boards and  the full range of Kidman's 'Spirit Of Akasha' product is setting here ready to be sold as soon as pricing is sorted out- CD's and vinyl of both the 'Morning Of The Earth' and Spirit Of Akasha' soundtracks as well as DVDs, and the really good new Windy Hills CDs. Stoked! In the meantime, here's some surf travel goodness- the far corner of Russia (which makes me feel so weak for grumbling about having to endure a bit of traffic to surf crappy closeouts) and a nice shot of one of the last Mackie flextails, courtesy of Wibz who's at the other end of the globe. The boards are a 5'10" Golden Mean Machine shaped by Daniel Thomson, tri furthers boxes and XTR foam, and a 6'7" single fin MPegg shaped by Dave Parmenter with a juicy Tuareg purple tint. 650 pounds each. The fins are the new Parmenter singles, template a blend of Brewer & McCoy, 6.5" high, 5.5" base and hand made and foiled in Hawaii by Brian Bills. Mackies AND a Parmenter For Sale

Even in the midst of all the Kidman tour chaos (and more on that soon, we have CDs, LPs and DVDs finally!) we manage to bring you some superb wave sliding equipment. Fresh off the plane, Mackie sidecuts and they are going to be complete rockets- EPS, 5 box system and so clean. The pictured 6'6" has sold but there's another one coming and the 6' is available- $850. As a bonus, this stunner of a Parmenter widow maker was also collected while blasting through Central California. Beautiful old school diamond tail, pretty thick and with glassed on side bites and a really stunning tint. It's a super good deal at $800, and this shape works so well from a few feet to overhead, it's a seriously good addition to any real quiver. Excuse this digression into humour, but after this week and dealing with the state of insanity that is the 5 freeway and realising that driving to San Diego to collect surfboards now takes twice as long as it did a couple of years ago, I need it. Aside from producing one of the most consistently brilliant magazines out there, the Sideburn dream team have one of the most constantly brilliant blogs and some of the most consistently brilliant readers, including the gent who sent this shot of a dapper copper at a UK demo. Beautiful. 6'6" Parmenter V-6, 19.75 wide x 2.75 thick. The classic, a stepped up version of the board Stephanie Gilmore rides in 'Spirit Of Akasha' and Andrew Kidman's 'Single' book. A modernist take on a classic with a forward wide point and thickness there to drive off, plus the deep six channels to give that bite and thrust. Absolutely epic glass work from the Waterman's Guild too, deep red tint with a yellow pin line. Proud to be involved in what Andrew's doing and to further this vision of surfing that encompasses more than the 'sport', it touches on the should. Mackie 2

The really excellent photos of Mick shaping from this and the previous post are by Steve Baccon and Mick is in fact soon to be shaping a couple of boards for the U.S.- A 6' and a 6'6", both sidecut fish in EPS, both with the 5 box option. Prices to be confirmed, but $850 each seems likely. Pic of Mick showing what a sidecut can do by Hiroyuki Yamada, and the last shot is the legend Taro Tamai, the man behind Gentemstick preparing for some action with the deep swallow Winterstik design board that has been so inspirational in Mick's surf board design. Epic.

He's back in the bay before vanishing into the mountains for the season and big, full speed inspirational Winterstik carves. There will be sidecut fish coming all going well- EPS, 5 boxes and hopefully a longish in there. We'll keep you posted.....

Custom Parmenter Widowmaker

Nice. Jamie in England wanted this- plan shape is from the 6 Channel single only there's no channels and a widow maker fin setup instead of a single, and that all makes such sense. He also wanted the Porsche Gulf Racing orange tint, and the artistes at Waterman's Guild made that happen easy as. Love it when it all comes together this easily....
